Blackpool Weekend, day 2!

This was actually written on Saturday evening but I was so tired I didn’t get around to posting but here are some thoughts from day 2!

IMG_1874.jpgIt seems a little strange, but today has been an odd day….purely because I actually feel quite relaxed about the competition tomorrow!  The day started with a breakfast at the hotel, followed by a wander into town, where it was so quiet for a Saturday morning!  Wandering around looking for a bright orange blusher!!

You can’t come to Blackpool for a dance weekend and not visit the Tower!  It has to be done…the amazing Tower Ballroom has so much history and wonderous features, just going in to have a swing around the floor is a ‘to-do’ when here!  Watching the change of the organists and sequence dancers taking to the floor to dance to ‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!’   Fab-u-lous darling!

The rest of the day has been taken up with more leisurely strolling around town, stopping for a Naughty Nero Coffee…..again….well….it is Blackpool!

Saturday evening is a chance to go into the Empress Ballroom in the glorious Winter Gardens ahead of tomorrow’s event, have a dance and admire the cabaret.

This evening really could go on much longer than we could stay, purely because I have to be up so early in the morning and ready to dance by 10am!

I have a mix of emotions as I think of what’s to come tomorrow.  I have never danced a Foxtrot or Paso Doble in a competition and am excited, nervous, determined but most of all, ready to get out there and give it a blooming good go!

To be continued!…..
